Frequently Asked Questions:


What is the teaching requirement? One parent is required to teach a minimum of one class per day of attendance


I’ve heard you have teaching partners, how does that work? That’s correct, all teachers have a partner to split up the teaching workload (each parent teaches 5 weeks in our 10 week semester). Teaching partners are great to sub in when one teacher cannot come into class that day.


What can I do if I do not want to teach? There are very limited after coop cleaning positions available in lieu of teaching.


What are the age groups? 4-7, 8-11, and 12+


How many students are in the coop? We are currently enrolling 30 students


How many students in each age group? We strive for an equal number of students in each age range (10 students in each age group)


Do you have to do all 3 semesters? Yes, we are a full year coop with 3 semesters (fall, winter and spring). The price includes all three semesters.


Is there a discount or scholarship? Unfortunately not at this time, we try to keep the costs relatively low. Our current school year costs $4/day per child.


Can my Nanny bring my children to class? No, unfortunately we do not allow Nannies to bring students to class


How are class subjects chosen? Class subjects are chosen by the teacher teaching them and/or the interest level of the children in that age group.


How many periods are there in a day? There are 3 class periods and 1 lunch/recess period.


How many classes are there? We have a minimum of 9 classes per semester, but there can be more depending on teachers/interests.


What is your mask policy? Evergreen Academy is a mask free environment.


What is a sponsor family? Sponsor families are families that you know in the Coop. Putting down a sponsor family increases your chances of getting accepted into the coop.


What does “social emotional learning” mean? This means that we are inclusive to students' emotional needs and are a caring homeschool community.


What if I have a child under 4? Children under 4 are not currently able to come to Evergreen Academy. We do make exceptions for children under 1 who are breastfeeding. We hope to have a nursery in upcoming years.

Is there parking? Yes there is a parking lot right next to the building.


Is there an outdoor space? Yes! There is a large outdoor space with a playground, grassy area, picnic area with tables and a vegetable garden.
